Tim is a highly experienced Metallurgist with over 35 years in the global steel industry, specialising in operational improvement, quality management, and process optimisation within integrated steel plants. He has a proven track record of delivering measurable performance gains in throughput, yield, and cost efficiency across both UK and international projects.
Throughout his career, Tim has successfully led major capital installations and continuous improvement programmes, driving operational excellence in complex industrial environments. His expertise spans the full steel production value chain, including steelmaking, casting, logistics, and environmental performance.
In addition to his steel industry experience, Tim has held senior technical and quality leadership roles in the aerospace and oil & gas sectors. At Timet Aerospace, he led teams of metallurgists across both day and shift operations, maintaining AS9100 and NADCAP quality systems while acting as the primary customer interface. He successfully managed numerous customer audits and approvals and was responsible for authorising process route changes and driving continuous improvement initiatives across both supplier and customer operations, delivering significant yield improvements.
Within the oil and gas sector, Tim served as Quality Manager, maintaining the ISO 9001 quality system for the manufacture of precision-machined flow control valve components. He oversaw a complex portfolio of over 4,500 parts, produced from advanced materials including Inconel alloys and tungsten carbide, all to extremely tight tolerances and stringent inspection standards. He managed customer relationships with key clients including Cameron and Baker Hughes (GE), as well as supplier coordination, customer complaint resolution, and ongoing continuous improvement activities.
